Why is the PopupDB Generator Page offline?
That is a question, which has been asked many times in the last few days. Let me begin with some explanations on how we have been handling the generator page in general. It all started as a little dev toy because I’ve been to lazy to copy my links in to the “open multiple links at once” website.
Long story short, the page got shared a lot and ended up as one of the most used tools to find Tech-Support-Scam-Numbers. While being a that popular tool the rest of the project was pushed into the back. Which made me kind of sad but is not the reason why the generator is down. I wanted to work on the real tool, but ended up pushing some updates to the Generator as well.
Main reason being the report of it to as many Virus scan websites as possible by someone who wants to go against the community. That ended up being a thread for the status of the domain and lead us to decide to take the site down temporarily.
But the site will come back and is going to help the community again as much as it helped before.
